Leadership Development and Creation
of a Leadership Pipeline are often cited as two of the most
critical issues faced by organizations today. All leaders
and talented employees are ultimately individuals with their
own set of strengths and weaknesses. The organization that
correctly identifies how to nurture and leverage the strengths
and how to help employees minimize their weaknesses tends
to succeed in the long run. People Metrics
provides a comprehensive approach to develop talent in the
organization.
Our consultants work closely with leaders
to examine the competencies they must develop in order to
expand those organizational capabilities tied to desired
business outcomes and strategic goals. The developmental
process begins only after the organization’s Strategic
Value Chain has been clearly articulated and understood.
An example shown below will explain our approach...
The fundamental of coaching is all about
the “coachee”. We have ensured that it has moved
from the realms of faith and being tactical in nature to
getting integrated into the business processes. Our Coaching
methodology involves multiple stakeholders, perspectives
and dimensions, and is built around business strategy incorporating
both science and skill leading to success. Coaching is not
only an individual event but also an organizational process
driving systemic change.
In our coaching the one-to-one encounter
between the coach and coachee remains fundamental. The coachee
works with the coach to set the objectives of coaching.
The other stakeholders, include senior management and representatives
of key functions such as HR, who share the responsibility
of articulating the organization’s strategic objectives
and consulting with the coaching effort to ensure that the
coaching and strategy agendas are properly aligned —
in other words, that the organizational context is made
relevant.
Our Strategic Value Chain
approach delivers three major benefits -
First, it takes a comprehensive
approach so that coaching not only improves an individual's
performance, but impacts the entire organization. It ensures
that the leader’s interpersonal; leadership and strategic
skills are aligned with the organization. Leaders who emerge
from multi-coaching engagements share a new sense of common
purpose and direction.
Second, this approach
ties development outcomes to organizational strategy. It
ensures that rather than being tactical in orientation and
developing generic capabilities, coachees develop broad
capabilities relevant to realizing the organization’s
strategic objectives.
Thirdly our strategic
approach to coaching supports the development of an organization
wide coaching culture. Addressing the broader context in
which the coachee operates, it takes into full account the
role of managers, colleagues, business strategy, culture
and processes.
